I just dropped an open bottle of lithium tablets on the floor
It was a sad reminder picking up all of those tablets off of the floor. Most people don't start getting meds that they have to take forever until they are in their 50s. I've been taking meds regularly since I was 30. I'm 35 now. I guess things could be worse.

As an admirer of your heart and mind, I'm glad you have access to the meds that help you. You're one of DU's best and most kind.

3. Thanks very much Heidi
You are very kind. I stopped posting and reading here for a little while, but I've come to the conclusion that I've got too many friends here to just walk away. I'm a DU addict for life even if I find myself wishing that we had better candidates to vote for.

4. C'mon Droopy- you really haven't lived until you've dropped a bottle
of pill so the floor and then had to keep the dogs from munching on them as you scramble to pick them up!

9. No one EVER drops a bottle with just 4 or 5 pills in it!
It's always the day after you've picked up a re-fill!

7. Started on my anti-seizure meds
in 1967 when I was 9. I will be on them until I die. Things could be worse -- at least I am seizure free.

10. I don't know where I'd be if I had a seizure problem
I'm a trucker and I guess I sure wouldn't be doing that for a living. I'm glad that you are alright now.

13. not that there is much comparison
but lots of people on asthma meds for life I am sure there are other examples.

and yep it could be so much worse - you could be in a situation where you didn't have them to take.

16. Yes that's true
Speaking of respiratory problems, August 8th will mark four months since I've quit smoking. I guess I'm doing alright all things considered.

17. Thank you
Yeah I learned my lesson the hard way. I stopped taking my meds 6 months after I was diagnosed and ended up back in the hospital. Now days I never even miss let alone think about quitting taking my meds.

19. My son had to start taking meds in 7th grade. He's 28 now.
Takes a mix of like 6 twice a day. The obesity they caused will shorten his life by many, many years. He probably won't see 50.So yes, it could be worse.
