I have 3 free songs from iTunes - give me some suggestions
I really have no idea what to download, as all I listen to anymore is stuff that I already have (the radio stations around here suck donkey balls, so I don't bother with them). So, give me suggestions for three songs to get.

2. Already got the Manson tune
The Clash song sounds good, I'd forgotten that they did the original.

All I've heard from AFI so far I like, I may check that one out.

Thanks!

3. You like the band, Cake?
They've yet to put out any stinkers, in my opinion. I'd also recommend Reel Big Fish.

4. Cake rules all
This is an undisputed fact - even though the only album of theirs I have is "Comfort Eagle." Any specific songs from other stuff that you would recommend highly?

I've only heard of Reel Big Fish in passing - are they punk, or something else?

6. Rock N' Roll Lifestyle
Off of Motorcade of Generosity, their first album. Best song they ever made.

7. RBF is ska, for the most part.
They do some 80's covers that kick serious ass, if you like that sort of thing. Aside from their originals, they're my favorite band that does a lot of covers. They do one of "Hungry Like The Wolf" that sounds like what would happen if Fishbone crashed into Frank Sinatra.

10. Hmmmmm, ska
I've never really been sold on the ska genre...although covers of 80's songs intrigue me greatly. I might have to preview that one.

11. Also covered by RBF:
"Take On Me"
"Hotel California"
"Come On Eileen"
"Walking On Sunshine"

Except for Hotel California, I like their covers better than the originals.

some others as well that are slipping my mind right now....

Originals:

"I Think I'll Have Myself A Beer"
"I Hate You, Fuck You, Leave Me Alone"
"All I Want Is More"
"I Want Your Girlfriend (to be my girfriend)"

5. Hendrix
Any live version of 'Machine Gun' will be pretty awesome. Hell, any Hendrix for that matter, though I prefer his later stuff (after Band of Gypsies). 'Izabella' (live) is another favorite.

Southern Rock - 'Highway Song' by Blackfoot (great long jam at the end!)

That album is incredible enough - I need to expand my horizons.

But you are absolutley right about any live Hendrix - that man was incredible.

17. Ummm, wouldn't that be . . .
The talented artists whose music is being stolen?

Why is it that some people feel like if you get it off the internet, buy a bootleg CD, etc., that it is less criminal than going into a music store and ripping it off out of there? What gives with that thinking?

I can tell you this (having walked in these shoes), artists, especially under-the-radar artists, need that $15 for their CDs. That feeds the family or maybe part of the band.

And even if you are stealing music from the Beatles, it doesn't make it any less thievery.
