Paddy's out of surgery, and he's fine!
He went into surgery at 6:00 this morning, and was higher than a kite on Valium and Versed. He had everyone in pre-op in tears from laughing (he can be wickedly funny when he's ripped), and was wheeled into the OR singing 'Lydia, The Tatooed Lady'. :P

Any way, the charge nurse in Recovery just called and said he came through surgery like a trooper, although it took longer than expected; apparently there was some joint and nerve damage that wasn't apparent on the x-rays, etc., and that took longer to repair than the ulnar-nerve transposition itself would have normally. He came out of the anesthesia pretty fast and was conscious and coherent, although groggy/sleepy.

I'm supposed to drive down and pick him and my brother-in-law up at noon, so I'll update you guys after that.

:)

One of my all-time favorite movies. (For the unaware it's "The Fisher King.")

but I know whatcha mean. Same situation here. Guess I was young and stupid in all those other meaningless relationships. Yes,there were some good times and great sex but this time it's a hell of a lot different and I know it's the real thing.

Best of luck to you guys. I saw the pictures the other day of you two. How cute!

28. Thanks for the support
Yes, this is the longest relationships I've ever been in. At times, it's scary b/c when I first met by baby, I had only been "out" about 2 years. I was still in my crazy, party stage and until my baby, the longest relationships was like 6 months or so.

But things just clicked with my baby. i think cause he's older (he's 36) and more settled and secure in his life. He has taught me so much about life. I'm really happy in the position I am in now. We work well off of each other even though we are different in a lot of ways.

34. I just checked on him, and...
... he's 100% awake now. The nurse asked him if she could get him something and he said, "A ham sandwich and a beer would be nice", although he settled for some orange juice and soda crackers, I'm informed. :P

36. UPDATE: He's home.
We got him home about 45 minutes ago, and he is now comfortably snoozing in drugged bliss on the couch, surrounded by both dogs and the cat. He has this enormous splint/Ace-bandage cast thingy and a sling, and his fingers look like long, fat sausages. He also has this nasty-looking suction bulb drain which is filled with some lovely pinkish fluid.:P

When we got him in the house, he had 2 requests: 1.) to pee--- immediately (I haven't helped anyone pee in a long time!), and 2.) to eat. I fixed him a some soup and a ham sandwich and a glass of milk. He's on some heavy-duty pain medication (Vicodin-ES) and Valium, and the doctor said he'll likely sleep most of the day, which is what he wants him to do.

He said he wants a bath later (no shower, sadly), but we'll see... :)

He's not big on being 'tended to' when he doesn't feel well, so I'm just sorta 'here' and check periodically to see if he wants something. :)

Yeah, those pills might do me some good. Just jokes, to me the only thing they make me do is fall asleep. Which is good when you're in pain but I don't know how people take them daily. I wouldn't get anything accomplished.
