I drive an Escalade. Flame away. Then try folding a big guy wih bum knees into an Escort. Or try pulling a 32' travel trailer behind a Taurus or Caravan in the Rockies.

Why an Escalade? It's big enough that I don't have to be in pain when sitting for more than 20 minutes. The engine is sufficient for pulling my trailer safely when I travel.

I've got my asbestos suit on. Turn up the torches.

edited to add: I do have a little common sense. I never drive it when I know I'll have to park in tight quarters.

I realized that, but some of the blanket statements were pretty harsh. I probably should have been clearer about that.

I admit it. I was getting a little overheated because I get a world of crap on the good days when I walk without a visible problem but use the handicapped space. The rub is, even on the good days, if I walk too much because I'm relatively pain free, one of the damn knees gives out on me and I end up getting wheeled back to the car.

Since I brought that up, too: many handicapped folks show no outward signs of their disabilities. I was once quick to judge on such matters, but have learned better.
