Conservative idiot # 5
I Googled Conservative idiot # 5 this week and found Jason Mattera's mug and writing on the "Hawk's Right Eye", (what happened to the left one? Poked out to spite it?) the Roger Williams University College Republicans monthly periodical.

Here it is:

http://www.rwucr.com/hre/jason.htm

It's a tad ironic that there is a function on the Left to change the background color.

Here's his email address if you'd like to drop Jason a quick hullo.

2. If you want a good laugh....
Read his very first issue where he says:

Donald Rumsfeld (Secretary of Defense), Dick Cheney (Vice-President), and Condoleeza Rice (National Security Advisor) have given talks upon talks on the danger Hussein poses to the U.S. So let us examine just a tidbit of the evidence: an Iraqi defector reported that Saddam has twenty secret facilities for chemical, biological and nuclear weapons, Iraq has admitted to the production of thousands of liters of anthrax and aflatoxin used with scud warheads, aerial bombs and aircrafts, which would only kill Americans in the thousands. No biggie! But let’s not stop there, the evidence continues: for months now Saddam has sought to buy specifically designed aluminum tubes to enrich his missile launch capabilities. Saddam was also attempting to gain Uranium from Africa. Wait, I know...Saddam wanted to use Uranium in order to build pots and pans rather than to use it in the development of nuclear weapons. Maybe I should add that Saddam has repeatedly met with his nuclear scientists over the past two years. But don’t worry; Saddam is a man of “integrity,” an upright kind of fellow.

This is the "truth that liberals despise"?

4. Mattera and Limpieza de Sangre???
As a full-blooded Anglo-Saxon. I am well aware of my own ethnic group's less-than-stellar record towards promoting ethnic and racial equality prior to the middle of the last century. I wonder if Mattera is aware of his own ethnic group's. Anyone who has done the slightest bit of study on colonial Spanish society is well aware of the numerous classifications and castes the old Spanish colonial masters used prior to the series of revolts on the Latin American mainland.

While I've no doubt that even upper-class Puerto Ricans were not considered top-drawer in old-line WASP power circles until recently, I still can't help but think of this kid as equivalent to the country-club YCTs of Dallas or Houston and equally clueless about his privileged birth.

6. Delusional choices
>>I still can't help but think of this kid as equivalent to the country-club YCTs of Dallas or Houston and equally clueless about his privileged birth.

As someone who grew up in Dallas I have to agree. It's the comfortable delusion of the privileged to assume they were born into a charmed life by manifest destiny and to speak otherwise is tantamount to heresy.

Now for those that weren't born into power that still feel the need to support and defend, that's another level of delusion altogether....

7. Here's an odd quote on an anti-Judy Shepard rant
Regardless of what Shepard believes, the First Amendment protects the exercise of religion. The word “exercise” means you have the ability to bring your beliefs to fruition. Just as sitting at home thinking about running around the track is not actually running around the track, lying on the coach thinking about religion is not freedom of religion.

Now would that be the track coach?
