5 guys are putting a new roof on my house today. They started at 6 AM
and they have it alomost done



they tore off two previous layers of shingles and swept the boards, layed new tar paper and now are in the process of nailing new shingles on!!!

I am tired tho and the dog and 2 cats are going berzerk with all the pounding

3. hubby went to the store and bought 2 cases of huge bottled water and we iced them down
so they could have them when ever they needed them

4. Insurance is paying for most of it. I think we are only going to have to pay 1,500 because we upgra

which they did and they also drank 24 pepsis and some diet rootbeer and also the rest of my bloody mary mix...

guess they were thirsty

10. I used to work for a roofing company during my summers off from college.
That is hard, hot, nasty work!!

We used to work with our shirts off so we all had killer tans from the waist up. Also, I was in amazing shape at the end of the summer!!

12. My dad's place had a complete re-roof a few years ago.
The old roof was really bad, so they replaced the plywood all the way around the edges of the roof, in addition to tearing off a couple of layers of old shingles, etc. They quoted four days for the whole job, but it was done by lunchtime on the second day. Fabulous deal too, and they didn't make a mess. A bunch of our neighbors have used the same company since then, because they did such a great job for us.

It wasn't hot though- we had them out in early November. I think that's why the job went so fast- more guys available to work in the slow season.

13. funny you should mention this
Today when I was gardening, I found a piece of roofing in the soil. Not uncommon.

And I had my roof done 8 years ago!
