"Rest Stop" - brilliant movie, or crap movie?
We're watching it right now, and I keep vacillating between whether it's brilliant, or total garbage.

There is a straight to video sequel coming out in October though.

1. A straight-to-vid sequel means that the original sucks
Exceptions: Modern Disney cash-in efforts on classic animated films from decades ago. Thus a new straight-to-DisneyDVD sequel to Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs would likely suck, but the original would still be a classic.

3. Really? That's strange...
I could have sworn that I remembered seeing a commercial for its theatrical release. Perhaps I'm misremembering, and the commercial was actually for the DVD.

and that the 'archive footage' shown in the beginning was actually real footage from the incident. Oh, and this is the remake we're talking about here.

40. When I watched (the original) as a teen, I totally thought it was a true story
:scared:

It reminds me of growing up in the 80's where once a year, we'd have a big talk about child predators... and every year they'd tell the story of serial child murderers (dressed as clowns) operating out of an ice-cream truck to lure their prey. Every year myself, and my classmates thought that there was an ice-cream truck roaming around hunting for us. I couldn't understand why they weren't just arrested.

38. I read it before watching, and thought the same
I was actually impressed by the movie (based on my low expectations).

We're now watching "Room 6" which also sounds bad, but so far it's living up to it's low expectations. It has Jerry O'Connel and Marsha Brady though.

My faves are the American and Italian 1970s/80s flicks. TCM, Suspiria, etc...

80s slashers. My favorite movie is Halloween, though I realize it's not the greatest movie ever made.

Blood Diner is about a couple of kids who, on the order of their dead uncle, begin stealing body parts to build a God named Shetar. They own a diner and dispose of the other leftover body parts inside the food and there is a scene where they walk into a nude aerobics class and begin killing 'em all. Oh it's awesome!
