Pole Dancing Migrates to Health Clubs
WASHINGTON -- Once reserved for the privacy of a men's club, pole dancing is turning up in unexpected places. Health clubs and dance studios offering the slow grind are attracting women who might have otherwise settled for a step class.

"You let your hair down, and it's that girl's club, slumber party feel," said Teri Jaworksi, who works out at the S Factor, an all-women studio in Los Angeles.

It counts as exercise because it leaves you extremely winded, she said.

Crunch, an urban-oriented subsidiary of Bally Total Fitness with about 30 clubs nationwide, prides itself on offering something different. Strip classes, with or without poles, are no challenge in popularity to step or other big-name dance routines, but they have found a niche among the daring.

2. Do they wear..
4 inch stiletto's while they're working out? I don't think it counts unless they do.

4. Let me guess
they have windows overlooking the dance studio so the men working out out can watch. Do they pay the women?

I've seen some excerpts on CNN, of course, and the women seem to enjoy the class and the exercise.

5. I want to join
If my husband doesn't get a job soon, I'll have to take up a high paying part time job. Just kidding. Although we recently went to a strip club as a character building exercise for myself and I realized that those wome are not really much more attractive than me, that is not compatible with my self image.
I would like to learn how to move like that though. As my husband says, I am such a runner. I never really had that attractive feminine walk down. I try to strip for my husband and find it awkward, not because I am shy at all with him, but because I am a bit clumsy and clunky.
I'd be willing and interested to do that sort of thing in a woman only class.
