Both the kids had their braces put on today.
Their teeth and mouths are really sore and sensitive right now, plus they're pretty moody.

They had Jamba Juice and soup for lunch.

We're having mashed potatoes and steamed green beans for dinner.

:D

Apparently, the soreness is only supposed to last for a few days or so.

Wish us luck! :hi:

1. As a brace wearer for 5 years....
IT SUCKS!!! yeah it only hurts for a few dayt it hurts like hell! Plus you have to go trough that pretty much once a month when you get them tightened or the bands and wires changed. you can't eat what you want and it even hurts to brush your teeth. Much sympathy to your children.....

however my teeth did turn out rather nice...actually they look amazing if i do say so myself!

2. first thing that popped in my mind when I saw your subject line was
MASHED POTATOES

After the extraction last week, I ate mashed spuds and scrambled eggs for 4 days - I love them BUT I am oh so tired of them :puke:

I ate many a knish when I got my braces put on - the fun alternative to the mashed potato!

 for the ShineKids.

4. Yes, it'll be sore for a few days...
then they'll adjust it and it'll be sore for a few more days... then a few more... then a few more...

Yeah, I've been there.

7. My mother invariably planned hotdogs for dinner on the days I had my braces tightened
Not intentionally, at least I don't think so, but they were tough to eat with newly tightened braces.

Much good braces karma to the Shine kids...:)
