A German cockroach,a city,a flower,a rose,and a butterfly
Edited on Sun Jul-13-08 11:35 AM by GoPsUx

I joking call the sparrows in Berlin German cockroaches, because they were everywhere begging for food, this one seems to like Coffee. :D

(Taken about five days ago)
Prague (IPA: /ˈprɑːg/, Czech: Praha (IPA: <ˈpraɦa>), see also other names), is the capital and largest city of the Czech Republic. Its official name is Hlavní město Praha, meaning Prague - the Capital City.
Situated on the River Vltava in central Bohemia, Prague has been the political, cultural, and economic centre of the Czech state for over 1100 years. The city proper is home to more than 1.2 million people, while its metropolitan area is estimated to have a population of over 1.9 million.<1>
Prague is widely considered to be one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. Nicknames for Prague have included "the mother of cities" (Praga mater urbium, or "Praha matka měst" in Czech)", "city of a hundred spires" and "the golden city"<.[br />http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prague

This was taken in the yard of some friends of mine in Berlin..(I thought it was sorta purty) :D

This was taken at Madame Tussauds wax museum one day after a wax figure of Adolph Hitler was beheaded by a protester screaming "never again war!" (Good for him)
Sophia Magdalena Scholl (May 9, 1921 - February 22, 1943) was a member of the White Rose non-violent resistance movement in Nazi Germany. She was convicted of treason after having been found distributing anti-war leaflets at the University of Munich with her brother Hans. As a result, they were both executed by guillotine. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sophie_Scholl
:(

And a butterfly for buddhamama.
(Taken at Sanssouci, the former summer palace of Frederick the Great, King of Prussia, at Potsdam)

Happy Sunday my fellow DU'ers :hi:

3. Kick because "Ich bin ein Berliner"

I have heard and read from several different sources the story that John F. Kennedy made a major German language blunder in his famous "Ich bin ein Berliner" speech in Berlin, Germany. The story goes that he should have said "Ich bin Berliner" ("I am a citizen of Berlin"), and that "Ich bin ein Berliner" really means "I am a jelly doughnut."

(interesting read)
