Did they shrink the size of what you can upload for an avatar on DU?

I'm trying to upload something but it keeps coming up as too big...but the one i have now was 4 KB! Does anyone have any advice?

7. suggestion? i can compress it down to the right SIZE, but not the right FILESIZE...

maybe if i shrink the image itself?

9. Smaller size, higher compression, .gif format instead of .jpg

lotsa options.

If you do use photoshop, it has a 'save for web' option that automatically optimizes it to the smallest filesize possible with the least quality loss.
