What goes good with corn on the cob?
We have some left that we didn't use (meal deleted thanks to rancid pork :puke:) and I'm running out to the store to pick up a few things, plus something for dinner.

I was thinking maybe chicken breasts, but it's kinda hot for the oven to be on that long.

Don't own a grill either.

Any suggestions in the next few minutes would be great. :D

1. Let's see.
Burgers? Coleslaw? I had some corn on the cob for lunch with a piece of chicken.

If you have Bubba Burgers up that way, they are delicious. Frozen patties that you cook while frozen, turn once. Really, really good.

:hi:

7. Never had 'em
I'll give them a look Bubba. I may go with chicken, but only if I can find pre-made mashed to go with it. Too hot to have that many burners and the stove going.

I should get cole slaw though - it's one of Bi-Baby's most hated foods. :D

:hi:

12. Why do people ruin a perfectly good potato salad putting eggs into it?
:puke:

A verifiably delicious dish ruined by albumin.

16. What's wrong with albumin? What'd it ever do to you?
I like eggs in all their many (cooked) forms.

Especially deviled. :9

I can eat eggs in an omelet with lots of cheese and peppers and onions, but otherwise, Ick.

28. Egg-haters of the world, unite!
I actually participated in one of those hokey "icebreaker" exercises once, in which the utterly useless and time-consuming task was to separate the group into subgroups based on -- you got it -- how we liked our eggs.

Naturally I had to peel off and form a "Not at all" group. One or two others joined me, in a room of about 30. So, fellow egg-hater, do not lose hope!

22. Eggs belong. What needs to be cut out is PICKLES.
Edited on Fri Jul-11-08 03:51 PM by LisaM
Pickles do not belong in potato salad, egg salad, or any other kind of salad!

I like hard-boiled eggs in my potato salad. And lots of onions.

31. I like pickles but only dill pickles.
I love dill pickles especially in tuna salad.

And I like mustard in both tuna salad and potato salad.

OOooh I'm gonna have to make some now. :D

I use Bush's, which is already flavored with brown sugar and bacon and probably mustard too... and I put more brown sugar and mustard in it... and cooked bacon on top. Deeee-lish!

29. Disillusioned words like bullets bark
As human Gods aim for their mark

Make everything from toy guns that spark

To flesh colored Christs that glow in the dark

It's easy to see without looking too hard that not much is really sacred.

Or so I've heard.

27. I would say baby back ribs but we just ate them.
They were so good and cooked in the big table oven so we didn't heat up the house.

Did I say they were good.

Think baby back ribs.

34. well we usually have tomato and cuke salad with corn on the cob
and then occasionally mac and cheese for the kid.

Fruit salad or other kind of salad with some sauteed chicken, etc. can be good also if you don't want to heat up the kitchen.
