Went to a casino for the first time and found it...
Edited on Fri Jul-11-08 03:39 AM by Lady Freedom
Utterly Boring! I could have played those type of games at home on my computer. I think this girl is sticking with the Arcade. At lest there they have DDR!

1. that's pretty much been my experience, too.
Casinos and gambling just don't interest me.

2. And the drinks!
I ordered a margarita. It was the worst thing I tasted! The beer was not really cold, more on the chilled side, but not cold. I decided to play the scrooge and stick with the Cola on ice. It was free and tasted ok.

3. You are safer making that decision. Boring, but safer.
:)

Gabling isn't about the amusement factor of the game. It's about the risk and the reward, the mind against the odds, the testing of one's limits and one's sense of control. Not for everyone, but it is for some.

7. people who are easily bored are, as a general rule, boring
i make no judgment about you, because i don't know you, but jobycom pretty much has it right -- a casino is more than just the bar business, there's a risk/reward element to gaming that is lost when there's no real money involved -- where is the excitement when there is nothing on the line?

i'm sorry your margarita was shitty and your beer warm, but to visit one casino one time and condemn the whole industry because you didn't do your due diligence and apparently picked the one casino in the world that can't keep a beer cold -- well, is that the fault of an industry that brings excitement and employment to many, or it is the fault of the consumer who picked a crummy gambling joint in the first place?

4. I could never see the attraction, either.
There are many people who love all that glitz and love gambling. Pennsylvania recently legalized casino gambling and is using the tax profits to pay for property tax relief and beginning health insurance for those not covered at work.

I have comt to think of gambling as a stupidity tax, and I am happy to let them pay some of my bills. These people used to go to Jersey and New York to gamble, so at least the money benefits us and not other states.
FWIW, Atlantic City casino profits are down again for the first hasl of this year.

6. I don't get it either
Every casino I've been in is just a smoky dive with the lowlifes of wherever on display.

No appeal.

8. This one is suppose to be the "it" casino in the four states.
It even has a web site to add major hype. As a professional, I do have to give kudos to the advertising group.

They do absolutely nothing for me. Plus, the cigarette smoke nearly kills me.

13. Hey, if it's not your thing, it's not your thing.
I've never been to a casino, but I am itching to play a good game of Texas Hold'em. :)
