Just because to put it mildly I KNOW THE STORY!! I KNOW HOW THE WHOLE THING GOES DOWN!

Now there are some movies where you can say, I read the book...but those of us who went to Catholic school REALLY read it, over and over and OVER! And also had to put on those dreadful "passion plays" before Easter every year. So I figure it's just like that except more gore & special effects.

I don't care about the movie, but I really want to see that The Passion of the Christ promo painted stock car crash and burn. Big explosions, huge flames, and many end-over-end flips.

5. Is this a date movie

for the fundie crowd? As a kid, we would occasionally be sent to Biblical movies with our Sunday school group. They were really terrible movies. Are there any decent movies based on The Bible? I haven't seen Scorcese's "The Last Temptation of Christ" though I've read the book, which was not well received by many Christians. I have about 300-400 movies I'll watch before Mel's.

8. I'm baffled

As to why anyone would want to see this movie, either. I couldn't even watch the TV shows promoting it. PrimeTime had practically their whole show on it.

Ugh, the whole thing just makes me shudder and I didn't even go to Catholic school.

As mythologies go, a Christ movie that focuses solely on his death would be like LotR chopped down to the volcano scene.
