5. storyline
and the politics that are played...cover-up, scandal, a "puppet" President, a maniac advisor, Supreme Court judges (liberal) getting axed...

3. Love the movie...Book is much better!
Any John Grisham book is worth buying and reading over and over. I've done it a lot.

4. Just watched "Runaway Jury" (the movie) last night
A bit disappointing, which is too bad. I think that's his best book.

6. Tell me..
.. my impression of the book makes it seem as if they've been a bit creative when they did the movie. Is it a total makeover, or does it follow the book to the letter?

I for one like The Rainmaker (just finished the book a short while ago - I just love the jury selection part) and The Client.

8. The movie follows the book pretty closely...
except for the rather major change of having the trial about the
gun industry rather than the tobacco industry.

The problems had to do with a lot of choppy editing and poor narative tension. The movie spills the beans early about what the jury-tampering folks
are up to, and that kills the suspense. Its too bad because the cast is great and
and they clearly spared no expense on the production.

9. The whole premise got screwy when they went from cigs to guns.
