Can we ban the use of the word "folks"?
I'm sick of it. I hear "the folks out in the field" at least two times a day, not to mention the various categories of "folks" that Obama will have trouble winning, etc.

Oh, and add "concur" to that list, since it's just a faux-intelligent way of saying "agree."

See- this kind of political correctness is RIDICULOUS...:eyes:

6. What does offense have to do with anything?
The only people I hear use the word "folks" are middle and upper management types trying to show how much they empathize with people who actually work for a living.

5. Concur. And can we ban any use of "faux" while we're at it.
Since that's just a faux-folksey way of pretending to not be faux-intelligent. :)

23. Depends on who's saying it
I know a lot of people who use "folks" in their daily vocabulary.

I do think all politicians and media talking heads should be banned from saying it, however, as they are almost without exception upper class twits using it solely in an attempt to "identify" with what they perceive to be the simple minded bumpkins who actually use the word "folks." It's very patronizing.
