3. Not at all, m'dear CalPeg.
I'm 33 and don't have one.

I don't text message with my friends, either.

If you're a curmudgeon, then I'm a curmudgeon-lette.

5. 54, no FB account
MySpace made me swear off social networking sites. WAY too much BS.

Guess I'm just old and set in my ways.

8. I hesitate to ask...but what exactly IS a Facebook?
And why would a 40-year-old married guy want one?

15. LOL
um......no, I don't think it is age-restricted but I'm sure those folk are most likely to be ultra-social, as is the case with every generation :D

20. I'm 51 but I've always been on the anti-social side
I remember when I was a teenage girl I wouldn't answer the phone (easier to keep more than one boyfriend that way) :D

23. John McCain has one, so it's clearly not restricted
Of course, his daughter had to set it up and maintain it for him because he thinks the computer is still something from a science fiction novel.

26. Me, too

And if it's anything like MySpace, which I pretty much despise in every possible way, I wouldn't want any part of it even if it was named ChocolateSundaeBook.

31. It's much better than MySpace
MySpace has that 7th grade girls vibe, tons of spam, and sticky applications. Facebook is graphically cleaner, and at least seems to make a decent effort to control spam.

I'm on Facebook, and my friends list includes the dean of my old law school, a former state treasurer of a southern state, a nationally known blogger and columnist, an astronaut, and an assortment of political acquaintances, relatives, and in-laws.

18. And what do you DO with it?
I'm not trying to be snarky. I'm just curious. I'm 40 and I'm so out of it, I can't imagine how this thing would be useful to me.

29. *lol* I use it to stay in touch with my daughter and some of her
friends from high school, who are like my "spare kids" and I've also been able to get back in touch with some acquaintances from high school (mine). I don't use it as much as some of the younger ones do, but it's kind of fun. :-)

Can you search by name, or by school?

34. Either; in fact, in your profile, you can list the school you graduated
from, and the site will automatically find people who listed the same school, within a few years of your graduation date. I found about 5-6 former classmates I wouldn't have thought to look for, and wouldn't have known how to find, otherwise! It was fun to see pix of them.

Oktoberain has a profile there, too...

It's a great way for us to touch base with our classmates at WVU, and even some instructors as well.
Plus, a lot of the applications are fun!

PM me if you haven't 'friended' us yet, and want to look us up.
