6. Hello There!
I guess that great minds think alike! :toast:

I also remember a good one (at least I thought it was good in my teens) with Kirk Douglas called "The Brotherhood".

8. I clicked on the wrong one by mistake.
I clicked on Godfather, which I love, but meant to click Goodfellas, which is my all-time favorite movie. I LOVE gangster movies. The old ones are great too.

9. "I'm on top of the world, ma"....
A lot of the old gangster movies are great, Cagney, Edward G. Robinson, Bogart. etc. The orignal "Scarface" is excellent. There's "White Heat," "Little Caesar"--so many it's hard to think of them all at once.

19. "White Heat" is a classic -- talk about film noir!
Cagney is still very underrated, IMO. He did some outrageous turns and bits of business. His Cody Jarrett in "White Heat" is terrifying.

Who else but Cagney could blow away a guy locked in the trunk of a car, while eating a sandwich, no less?

17. Yes!!! Imagine the *jolt* that it caused in its time!
My mom saw "The Public Enemy" in the theater as a kid -- she told me that the scene where Cagney (all bound up like a mummy) falls through the front door absolutely horrified everyone.

Is that the one where he smashed a grapefruit in the woman's face? I think that itself was shocking at the time.

I was so high and it just blew me away. So many good parts, the end when Pacino has all the coke on his face, a madman at his boiling point. Classic!
