Your favorite Simpsons episodes... Share them with me!
I'm watching Season 5 tonight, and "Cape Fear" just started. Probably my favorite Sideshow Bob episode ever, and one of my top 5. My all-time favorite is "Homer at the Bat" - the one with all the MLB all-starts guest-starring in a story focusing on softball.

So... Which episodes do you love? And if you don't like The Simpsons, how may I most efficiently chide you?

1. I would be hard-pressed to name a favorite,
although I agree that Cape Feare is easily the best Sideshow Bob ep. I'm awfully fond of the season 2 episode where Marge gets Itchy and Scratchy cleaned up. "Porch Pals" cracks me up every time (the show's writers have said that they are amazed at all the fanmail they get naming it the best Itchy and Scratchy), and I love the idyllic children-playing-to-Beethoven's 6th montage.

If I absolutely had to pick a favorite though, probably the one where Bart becomes Burns' heir.

2. All very good episodes.
The next time I have a little bit of disposable income, I';m going to go out and by Season 7. I have 3-6 now, and I definitely want to expand my collection.

If you have any of the DVDs, have you ever listened to the commentaries? Some of them are just fascinating...

8. Yeah, I've got 1-8
probably stop there, as the number of good episodes per season after that don't really justify a DVD purchase.

3-6 are probably the most essential seasons, although I would probably pick up 2 before 7.

I've only listened to a handful of the commentaries, but they are often pretty interesting.

4. I love them all
Can't remember specific ones off the top of my head. I love it when Homer says "Sweet merciful crap!" and "Kiss my hairy yellow butt!" and when Bart says "Oh my God - the dead have risen and they're voting Republican!"

Cape Feare probably still wins, but just barely.

"Yeah, Yeah, we love Grimby." And the water-cooler sight gag.

9. I think my favorite is the one with John Waters as a guest voice.
Homer thinks that Bart might be gay. So, Homer tries to "straighten" Bart out...including a trip to a steelmill...a gay steelmill. :-)

But there are very, very few bad "Simsons" episodes. They're all pretty much good.

10. There are so many...
I really love the Treehouse of Horrors, where Kodos and Kang steal the election. (Don't blame me! I voted for Kodos!). I love all the Sideshow Bobs, the episode where Bart goes to France, and especially the X-Files crossover. There are probably dozens that I'm forgetting, but I haven't actually watched the show in a long time.

and the one where Flanders gets custody of the Simpsons kids. The first one boasts probably the greatest scene in the whole Simpson canon, the church congregation's performance of "In the Garden of Eden" by "I. Ron Butterfly". The second includes Homer's heroic rescue of his children from baptism.

14. The one where Bart pretends to be a boy fallen in a well
Timmy O'Toole. And there's a big effort to dig the kid out, complete with a celebrity-studded song a la "We Are the World."

The best line ever on a Simpsons though, was in the episode where the family is searching for Duffman who has fallen on hard times. They find him at the Springfield Men's Mission where a sign over the door proclaims, "We Add God to Your Misery".

There is a bunch of other ones I could name but this one is my all time favorite.

There's a song about all the animals who make up his wardrobe. And yes, I know the song by heart.

All the Treehouse of Horrors episodes. The one where Selma marries Troy McClure and he stars in the Planet of the Apes musical. Sideshow Bob episodes. The one where a fortune teller tells Lisa about her future engagement. Another one is when Selma takes the kids to Duff Gardens, they go on a Small World-type ride, and Lisa drinks the "water" and begins to hallucinate.
