I did a good cleaning out of the closets today and have 4 bagsfull of decent used clothes. Are there any charities that are better than others? We have a variety of clothes drop off boxes here in los angeles..... or goodwill?
1. Don't know about LA.... but I don't use Goodwill.
They have a warehouse here filled to the rafters with unopened bags and boxes. I give my stuff to a smaller thrift shop run by a religious group.
I just found out about a local group that collects women's business-style clothing for needy job-applicants to wear to interviews, or for the workplace. I think that is a great place to send gently worn dressier clothing (and I have a closet-full!).
I'm having one of those evenings where DU'ers are inadvertently making me feel good about life. I'm glad places like that exist and people like you go out of your way to give.
of all the people that have lost their houses in the midwest -- I mean sheeesh -- those people have lost everything that was in their houses - clothes included! come to think of it, I should look up the red cross and see if they are taking donations specifically for this.....
