My mother is insisting I come over. But I'm in a lot of pain -and it makes me a nasty SOB. And she'll make an issue of the length of my hair and also my facial hair - she hates both. So I told her I was busy. A lie but it seemed best. Am I evil or wrong?

I have MS, it hurts. I got gaybashed and they seriously fucked up my knee, my back, my neck, I have a hard time walking. I'm in no mood to hang out with someone who blames me for it.

I'm sorry that you have to turn to untruths to have that basic right, but if that's what it takes (i.e, she won't take no for an answer), then I say you've got the right to do what you have to do to be able to control your own life.

I don't like lies at all, but, in my opinion, you had no choice without starting a major fight that doesn't have to happen, especially when you're in pain. :(
