Please post Bad Dad movies
The first that came to mind was "The Shining." What other movies have murderous or otherwise terrible dads?

He buys her food, talks, and sings with her.

25. Great movie
And there's one scene every gay man knows by heart and can act out. I won't give away spoilers but if you've seen it you know the one I mean.

Khash.

29. Hmm, I'm a man and I've seen it...
perhaps the "being gay" part is crucial. Maybe a hint?

33. Ah yes,
Certainly a memorable scene.

Sounds like I missed out on some free entertainment. About half the men in our last apartment building were gay.

35. Hrm. Gay? Check. Man? (peeks) Check...
Never saw the movie so don't know any scene in it by heart.

Do I have to turn in my gay card or my man card?

36. I'll let you keep both
if you just see the movie. It really is good. One of those things that got incorporated into gay culture. Like All About Eve - and don't tell me you haven't seen that or I will suspend your license to be gay!

Khash.

18. The original is superior
But both are creepy. Gregory Peck & Robert Mitchum in the original. Robert De Niro & Nick Nolte in the remake.

26. hmm, never saw the remake -
I wouldn't say that Peck in the original was bad though.

But that reminds me - do stepdads count? If so, Night of the Hunter has got to be up there.

Scott Evil: I just think, like, he hates me. I really think he wants to kill me.
Therapist: He doesn't really want to kill you. Sometimes we just say that.
Dr. Evil: No actually the boy is quite astute. I really am trying to kill him, but so far unsuccessfully. He's quite wily, like his old man.

44. The Two Towers/Return of the King
It is only one aspect of the story but Denethor doesn't exactly deserve Dad of the year for his treatment of his two sons, even though he favors Boromir that really isn't fair to Boromir either because of his love and loyalty to his younger brother.
