GLAAD Gay Ski Week in Telluride!

This is my neck of the woods, and although Mrs. Robb and I don't happen to be gay, it would appear some of our best friends are. :silly:

1. Telluride, Colorado?

Why would the gay community pick the right-wing, homophobic state of Colorado to hold a ski weekend? There are so many gay-friendly states that could be a site for such a weekend - Vermont for one. I have continued by boycott of Colorado - which stinks because I have a few aunts and uncles that live there.

6. Every other week...

...we have another Gay-Pride event or another. Gay day at Disney. Gay day at Telluride. They are begining to look more like tent revivals than anything else I can think of. *shrug* I'm trying to remember who the author was who said "the love that dare not speaks it's name has grown hoarse from screaming." I am by no means saying that the GBLT community should "shut up" or "go back into the closet", however if what we are really striving for is equality and general acceptance within society then events that are constantly screaming for attention and causing the community to "stand out and be different" are counter productive in many cases.
