I drove out here to stay from the Midwest six years ago, and I think I took I80. I do remember that I drove through every goddamn mountain range in the US...

14. US 50 connects Ocean City and Sacramento
They even have signs at each end proclaiming the 2000+ miles to the other end. It is a simple 3 hr. hop down I-80 from Sacramento to San Jose. Of course US 50 is not the quickest route. I would try I-80 for that but you would see more of this country.

From a former Balmer resident now living in San Jose.

Mapquested (I coined a phrase like "Googled". Aren't I special :P) a route from Key West, Florida to Anchorage, Alaska. I forgot the distance those are the two farthest points in the continental US I could find.
