The Timberwolves are quite possibly the best team in the NBA right now.
And anyone who says otherwise is WRONG!!!!! :P:P:P:P:P:P

Wolves whup on Sacramento tonight 92-75!!! The lowest point total this season for the Kings. The Wolves are now tied with Indiana with the best record in the league at 39-15!!!

NO ONE CAN BEAT US!!!!!

If KG doesn't win the MVP this year, it'll be a travesty.

1. I bet 50 cents that they'll ask for a new stadium within 2 years...
Especially if they start to suck and the fans give up.

This is all theoretically, mind you...

Hmmm, much like the Vikes and Twins, it seems that it'll take a new stadium to bring people back... (how about price caps on tickets and salaries? Great American pastimes invented for the regular folk become worthless if the regular folk can't bloody well afford to go to them...)

Rant aside, no argument on the quality of the team. KG is quite the asset to the Wolves. I be 55 cents that KG might start looking around if the Wolves don't pony up... Hah, KG might be the first A-Rod of basketball! :D (Lovely name, A-Rod... The cynical people of the world can think of some lovely modifications to the name if they had nothing else to do... )

3. They won't be asking for a new arena anytime soon.
They don't need one, unlike the Twins and Vikings. They installed new digital scoreboards at the Target Center this year.

7. Actually...
Cool! Nice that they're keeping the Target Center in with the times... though they're using "Target" over "Daytons" to try to fool the people into thinking it's for the common folk (the prices within sure aren't though...)

I do agree that the Metrodome is in a dumb location. So was the 2004 ice palace (which was nowhere as cool as the '86 and '92 versions), is it always a republican administration that thinks of the stupidest place to put popular attractions?!

But I disagree that they all need separate stadiums (I gather the Gophers want their own stadium too as well...) Let alone the idea that taxpayer funds should go to a structure used and enjoyed by a small portion of society, that's also used by big corporations to throw up gigantic advertisements of their logos... (Let's see, I go to a game and see a big-arse sign for, what the heck, "Butch Jeans". Yes, seeing their logo makes me want to go out and buy 50 pairs of Butch Jeans... :eyes: Seeing an intermission advert of two people in foreplay while wearing the jeans does nothing for me either, I could care less if it was a heterosexual couple, homosexual couple, or an outright orgy of 20 people all wearing Butch Jeans... I don't see how a logo and an advert that shows everything BUT the product convinces people to buy the product... lunacy at it's finest...)

Expect Pawlenty to enact TABOR, destroy the public sector, and use the money to build stadiums for every billionaire repuke who asks for one paid for by all of us... x( :eyes:

9. I'm with you in being against public funds going towards stadiums...
Edited on Thu Feb-19-04 10:16 PM by northwest
...but the Dome was built already obsolete and under-budget. I believe the Vikes and Gophers should share a stadium. I'm all for creative other ways of funding them, such as hotel/rental car taxes, a new casino, new ottery games, a tax on cigarettes, etc. The Metrodome AT THE VERY LEAST cannot be used for baseball anymore. A plan to renovate the Dome for the Vikes and Gophers would cost just a much as a new stadium, so why not just build a new one???

But in any case, nobody is talking about replacing the Target Center. That place still has better luxury suites than the Xcel Center. They also make more revenue in parking. The Target center will be around for a long time to come. But I do admit, the Target Center food is horrible and overpriced.

And Pawlenty is an asshole.:)

6. The guy who runs the power rankings is a moron.
In previous years, he put 30-20 teams below 20-30 teams.

He gets a TON of scathing hate-mail as a result.
