Well, I did win one battle...
Edited on Thu Feb-19-04 09:45 PM by HypnoToad
Sprint. They wanted to charge me a $150 cancellation fee (plus $10 in usage and other fees, go figure), claiming I cancelled too early. (uh, the contract was for one year, I switched plans on the very day the cancel should have taken place, and when I lost my phone in July, the manager then said my contract would not be extended...)

Well, after 2 calls to Sprint directly, where each time I got a different story as to why they wouldn't cancel the fee, I went to the store and explained the problem. The NEW manager called them up, slightly embellished the story I'd told, and after 5 minutes Sprint withdrew the fee.

YES!

Moral of the story? Avoid Sprint, if nothing else... and it's not what you know, it's who you know. :-)

Actually, I didn't win it. The battle was given to me, I couldn't win on my own, so I ran to go cry to somebody.

Hmmm, when the meek do inherit the Earth... it'll probably be a wreck. :-)

2. After today, that store has me a customer for life...
And not just for the cell phone sortie, I've observed that this manager is a true asset for "The Company"...

4. Sprint sucks
I had a Sprint phone and just let it drop. Sucky customer service.

Was the new manager from Sprint? Maybe I didn't read your post right.

5. The new manager from the store where I bought the phone...
And Verizon is a MUCH better service.

This proves that, while they hijacked and molested the peace symbol hand gesture, the quality of the service almost justifies it. Verizon freakin' rules.

I wish the Nokia 3589i phone would more consistently lock itself after powering down, but with the phone set to send and take calls only from phone book entries, it's useless to a thief anyway. :D It's a minor quibble, it's otherwise of solid build, Nokia is well known for having the best reception quality out there, battery lasts for 2+ hours before I have to recharge... lovely phone... could be a firmware update too, I really ought to check...
