So, on my drive home from work...
A co-worker that recently bought a Porsche Cayman S, wrecked it by accelerating into the back of the car infront of him. I had to console him with some beer, but honestly I could not help but laugh because he is a jerk anyway.

Here is how it happened. As we were entering the ramp to get onto the freeway, he was infront of me. Our on-ramps have stoplights and only one car is allowed to go per green light, so there are always traffic backups. There is also an express/carpool lane and a normal lane. Well, someone ahead of us was confused about which lane to get into which stopped traffic, he saw this and gunned his engine and squealed his tires to go around the line of cars when someone else ahead of him pulled out and he then slammed into them while in a full throttle acceleration. The front of his Cayman S is wrecked.

I saw this and gave him a ride after the tow truck hauled his car back to the dealer. I bought him a beer too. But I could not help but laugh a bit.

Am I an asshole for laughing?

it was hard not to because if he was less of a jerk, this would not have happened.

7. If he was less of a jerk
he would have waited his turn and not tried to go around the other car.

26. That actually happened to me when I lived in Maryland
I was getting off the Beltway and I stopped as I was waiting for my turn to merge. I started to go but had to stop because some moron cut into the lane I wanted to merge into. The lady behind me thought that I had went and she accelerated right into my rear bumper. Luckily, I wasn't hurt and I got my truck fixed good as new.:-)

30. I'm confused - which line of cars was he trying to go around?
If he was a solo driver trying to jump the carpool line, then he's an ass and mockery is deserved. If he was just moving into his proper lane, then he's still an ass for the squealing and the not realizing that others might make the same move. However, he's slightly less of an ass in the latter case.
e
Either way, he derves to be laughed at and you're fulfilling a cosmic duty by doing so...

behind the person that could not figure out what lane to get into.

32. So the confused person was stopped, blocking both lanes,
and there was a single line of cars waiting behind them where there should have been two lanes? And your friend peeled out to jump this, probably using a portion of the shoulder to do so?

In that case, he deserves major mockery, a double-dope-slap, and no beers. Total moran...

there is sort of one lane into two at that point, he jumped out of the one, into the two and hit someone ahead of him doing the same thing.
