Is that photo edited, or can a cat actually be marked like that?

Oh, and I just want to twiddle that pug's ears!! :loveya:

10. The cat could actually be a chimera with 2 different sets of DNA
Edited on Sun Jun-08-08 08:53 AM by nuxvomica
I've heard that may be common among calicoes. Such a cat would have a 50/50 chance of beating the DNA evidence in a criminal investigation, especially if given a choice as to which side to take the sample from.

18. Actually, I did some checking and they are usually "mosaics"
Chimeras are a rarer form of mosaic. Here's some 411 on calico genetics:

P.S. That's a cute kitty!

Edited on Sun Jun-08-08 11:36 AM by Rhiannon12866
I washed all of the bed linens yesterday and when I came up from the washer in the basement, he'd ripped another two "do not remove" tags off a couple of pillows... The little guy (the blinking pup in my sig) is a very picky eater, gets special food, but he'll eat anything that's non-edible... *sigh*

26. Awww! Thank you, my friend!
Reminds me a little of my Jack, these days, since he could use a grooming...:D

And that's a Chinese Crested, and those come without hair. My former co-worker, who moved away, (another animal lover, even though he is a Republican dolt, LOL, but I forgive him because he cares for animals) said he has two, and promised to send me pix, but that was two years ago...

The hair is just about halfway down my back and I know it's gonna be a swelterfest of a summer.

Another breed I've never heard of, along with the toaster cat. Thankee luv :D

Seems a decent fellow for being a GOP dolt, just a tad forgetful ;)

28. Well, my hair is too, LOL.
And it is terribly hot here, too, over 90-degrees this weekend, but I turned on the A/C for the dogs on Friday, so it's okay inside.:-)

And here are Chinese Cresteds. My friend (LoveMyCali on DU) and I were really looking forward to seeing the pix, but he never did send them. He said that his little boy had to do it for him, LOL. It's not that he's forgetful, just is off and on line. And I already knew that he was a Republican dolt, used to send me e-mail about all the WWII dead in France turning over in their graves, that sort of thing. *sigh* I could take him on now, after more than five years on DU... ;) But he is a fellow animal lover, used to have two bunnies who were litter box trained...:D

30. They are very cute, but I've always had the fuzzy ones, cockers and terriers.
Brussels Griffons, like Meneken and Jack, come in two types, rough coat and smooth coat. Both of mine have been rough coat. My previous vet was all excited when I first brought Meneken in, brought out books to educate me, LOL. He had only treated one other, ever, and he's near retirement age. What he told me was that the rough coats are more healthy, since they come from Yorkies, while the smooth coats come from pugs, so are more apt to have breathing problems, with their short little snouts...

And I can forgive my friend, despite his support of Bush*, since he volunteers at shelters. But if he sends me anymore Freeper e-mails, he'd better look out! LOL. Actually, nuxvomica, who is the reason I found DU, pretty much put him in his place... He's been at this much longer than me.:D

BTW, don't cut your hair...:hi:

Anyone who puts Bushites in their place is a friend of mine :)

It gets cut on 01/20/09 and the hair goes to a local cancer center for use in wigs.

Time for my sunday constitutional. Food, advil and sleep inducing music* :)

 :loveya:

35. I've known nuxvomica since 1979, though we weren't always friends, LOL.
But he's the one who turned me on to DU, and I'll always be grateful. He likes getting credit, LOL. And I turned LoveMyCali, yet another animal lover, on to DU. I sent her threads for a couple of years, and she finally joined as a surprise for my birthday a couple of years ago, got nuxvomica to post a birthday thread for me to show me she was here, LOL. I actually thought it was kind of weird, since he was sitting right across the hall from me, at the time... So, the next month, I gave her a star for her birthday. There aren't a lot of us liberals, here in the North Country, so we have to stick together...:D

And that is incredibly cool about your hair donation. I'd consider it, but it takes so long for mine to grow...

Have a good rest, my friend...:boring:
