The film reviewer of the Chicago Tribune said that Adam Sandler's new film...
is just as inane as his last one.

I didn't think that was possible.

I guess he has only one good movie in him.

2. And he keeps making the same movie over...and over...and over
Really, I liked his more serious roles like Spanglish and Punch Drunk Love....

3. He was great in Spanglish. I had hoped that would signal the end
of these "comedies" where he fumbles from one scatological "joke" to the next. A friend told me this one is more violent than bathroom. But still not funny. I think I'll wait until TBS edits it for TV, thanks.

4. Even 50 First Dates was somewhat of a change in style for him...
More of a classic romantic comedy role, and less of a juvenile dimwit-fest. I enjoyed that one too, albeit not as much as others.

Oh well, I knew I wasn't going to see this Zohan crap from the word go, so it's no skin off my nose what he does with his career.

7. Wasn't he? "50 Dates" wasn't quite as good,
But not all his movies are inane.

9. what did you think of "Spanglish"?
I kinda liked it... was surprised. He wasn't his usual idiotic character in it.

14. Admittedly, I haven't seen it.
Based on your recommendation, I'll put it in my Netflix queue. If he's not doing his usual idiotic character, I'll give it a look-see. Thanks.

17. he's a chef in LA, married to Tea Leoni (whose mom is
Phyllis Diller). They hire a woman (who is from Mexico, originally) to help them, with her daughter, and the family dynamics are interesting. It is more the woman's story than anything else.

Let me know if you like it -- I did.

13. You know...didn't I see "The Love Guru" a few years back?
It was called..."The Guru". About a guy who poses as a sex guru. Heather Graham, Jimi Mistry and Marisa Tomei was in it. It was a funny movie.

Too bad that Mike Myers had to steal from it.

15. The Love Guru looks like a disaster.
So i married an ax murderer is imo the best MM film. Maybe it was Phil Hartman that made it good.

People who can't understand the difference are inane.
