fantastic pet product: FURMINATOR. This is a grooming tool I found at the vet's
yesterday. You would not believe the fuzz I combed out of just one of my cats with this tool. It is amazing. Not all my cats like it..my black cat loves it, begs me to continue, fusses when I stop. Siamese tolerates it. Big gray hates it and little gray has been hiding so haven't had a chance with him yet.

http://www.furminator.com/ company link.

performs as advertised

Once a woman told me about fleas appearing in her house and jumping on her white socks. This was before the more modern anti-flea products, and she had been worried about toxic stuff. I told her about a steel flea comb which builds up static electricity that stuns the fleas and holds them long enough for you to pick them off and deposit them in a bit of dish detergent. She bought a flea comb and later reported to me that she had removed 80(!) fleas from her black cat in one sitting, and he loved the attention.

Is the "blade" of the Furminator fine teeth, or rubbery, or what?

3. very short, very fine metal. Nice comfy rubber grip handle too
I combed about 4 cups of hair off my black cat yesterday and another couple of big hands full today. He is the one that loves it though.

4. Yes, the furminator, has my personal endorsement
I have one and my friends borrow it. Cost like $50.00.

5. I was just contemplating buying one for our feline furballs!
I saw them at PetCo but I wasn't sure if they worked. Thanks for the endorsement--that gets me closer to biting the bullet and ponying up the $30-something for the cat-sized one. It could very well be worth it--all our cats have their claws, so baths are out of the question, and no matter how much we brush them, they just keep shedding--year 'round--even with canned food every day...especially our orange tabby. We've got cat hair EVERYWHERE--stuck in the rug (luckily only one area rug), tumbleweeds drifting along on the hardwoods, plastered to the fleece blankets...ick.
