1. Oh, how sad
He's one of the people I (irrationally) thought would live forever. He'll be missed.

2. What a great journalist he was
He really knew his stuff. He made even the most obscure sporting event sound interesting and carefully and eloquently reported the breaking events at Munich in 1972. RIP Jim McKay, and thanks for telling us more than just the score. :(

4. I searched youtube for a clip of his heartbreaking "They're all gone" announcement
from the 1972 Olympics, but I couldn't find one.

Anybody?

6. Aw, he was one of the greats
His outfit knew how to cover the Olympics, as in providing long segments of actual COMPETITION, instead of equal portions of events and commercials and puff pieces.

7. A sad day . . .
He was like the kind uncle that was nice to invite into your living room and listen to him talk sports.
I've missed him the past few years. The Olympic coverage hasn't been the same without him.

sigh.

RIP Mr. McKay!
