I'm watching a baby bluebird getting ready to fly.

Last Spring I tacked a birdhouse up on a tree in my backyard. I practically killed myself doing it. Lo and behold, a bird arrived, took a look and promptly made its nest in a tree right opposite the birdhouse. This Spring there must be a housing shortage because I finally have a tenant. The Mom is a beautiful bluebird who has been working constantly...first building the nest, them feeding that hungry baby and now it looks like she is trying to nudge the baby out of the nest. This is such fun to watch!

My dad used to have bluebird houses - they're such pretty birds.
