"Is it wrong to kiss on the first date?"
This is one of the discussion questions in my anthropology/psychology/sociology textbook.

You'd think we'd be discussing issues of social and political relevance, but no. They're encouraging us to discuss the deeply pressing moral question of whether it's wrong to kiss on a first date.

Sigh.

1. It's only wrong if you're forced to. Otherwise, it's no one else's business.
:hi:

3. You kids these days....
With your big philosophical discussions..to kiss or not to kiss. What are we gonna do with you...Now...
GET OFF MY LAWN!!

Seriously, thats a bit silly if you ask me, I've done both kissed and not kissed on the first date. Its up to the people involved and I don't think its any great moral dilemma...

5. Bingo!
I'm done that class now, but I hate how all the supposed debates are about what people should and shouldn't be doing in their personal lives. We had one about open relationships, and everyone was like "EWWWWW IT'S ICKY AND WRONG!!!", and I was just like "Hey! Have a nice big cup of mind your own business!"

6. Now we must delve into the 'slurpy wet' vs. 'cheek peck' schools of...
first date kissing.

These kids these days! Why, when I was a kid we had to make our own kisses by knapping them out of chert.

4. The only thing that is wrong to do on the first date...
is be someone you're not. Elsewise its all fair game.

7. Yes...
that's how young girls get pregnant; making-out and naked-groping. That's what Sister Claire told my health class in 8th grade.

It was the first time that I can recall that it occurred to me that nuns might be batshit-crazy. It pretty much ruined 8th grade for me; Jessica didn't want to be an unwed mother so I had to spend months making out with my elbow.

8. The only thing wrong to do on a first date
is get married. And I wouldn't hold hard to that. It's actually a good question because it shows peoples' values and what they believe. Can you kiss, can you put your hand under her bra (or down his pants) , can you get a motel room for something more serious?

It is of social relevance, we don't live in a society where we all think the same. That's true of other cultures, too. It may seem silly, but there is a point to it.

Khash.

9. People can do whatever they want on a first date
as long as both are consenting. I can't believe that's supposed to be a philosophical question.

11. I happen to like smooching...
Far superior to merely 'kissing'.
