The European Championships

Just before I noticed the member Heidi and I'm aware the country of her residing is a joint host of the European Championships this year. So, I'm thinking that I would like to set up a thread relevant to this event.

One of my tendencies is an attraction to the contrary. As such, I can easily doubt the favoured and find feeling with a team written off by some - especially as this tournament is more prone to producing upsets than the World Cup (with regard to eventual winners, anyway).

La Furia Roja (Spain) have quite a backing behind them, a fair number believe they can go all the way. This surprises me a lot as Spain are one of those entrants I always write off. They just can't go all the way, can they? And I can't see that changing.

I have an inkling Oranje will do well. France and Italy are favourites from their group but the Dutch still have so much quality in their arsenal. The Dutch are underachieves like the Spanish, still, not THAT big underachievers. :P

To close I'll also give a shout to the Czechs for some reason.

My team will always be the Oranje, but I'm really scared of Group C though. I think this might be the biggest Group of Death in a Euro.

In the sports forum I posted the US TV schedule for my stateside football fans. I get the joy of watching it on BBC!

an authentic Euro08 soccer uniform. I bet he's the only five-year-old on Oklahoma who has one. :7
