Holy jesus, I'm posting this on a brand-new Macbook.
Uh, yeah, I don't know what happened. We walked into the Apple store to look at something entirely different real quick...damn, this is nice. Never used a Mac before!

Going to bed now - tell me I made the right decision!

Good choice.

I bought my husband a Macbook for his birthday in April. He loves it.

7. This one was for me, but my husband already wants one of his own.
I think we're going to become a Mac family pretty quick!

Is it my imagination or is everything whiter, brighter, and clearer on this monitor?

10. Now that I've used both Mac OS and Windows XP in close proximity to each other
I have to say that, except for the boot screen, I like the look of the Mac interface better.

I converted both of my parents to Mac recently. They can't believe how much easier it's made their lives!

14. I'm going to a class at the Apple store tomorrow.
Introduction to the OS. Since I've never used Mac or their OS before, I think it will be really beneficial.

23. the free classes are good, too.
but the one to one lets you deal with your own issues, some of which are just not going to come up in a class. great place to start tho.
congrats on getting a mac. i like mine, but it is the company that i really love. they are the best.

Congratulations, you will never buy a PC again.

Get Applecare, you have 1 year to do it, but it is worth it.

9. Replying from my MacBook
I was happy with my iBook (the previous model), but then a client required that I use certain software that is available only for PC, so I bought a dual-boot MacBook, and I've been very happy.

It's fast and reliable, and with the Mac OS 10.5, I get automatic back-up to a hard drive at regular intervals without even having to think about it.

11. I'm replying to you on a used PowerBook G4.
I bought it from a local guy who refurbishes Macs. My Dell crapped out on me one too many times. I still have a PC desktop, but I just love the way this Apple just WORKS. It never seems to be confused by anything.

I do need to get a new battery though. The one I have doesn't have much longevity.

15. It reminds me of our Dyson.
Heh, I know that sounds weird. But the Dyson was the first machine I ever owned that just worked exactly the way it's supposed to, all the time. When we first got it (we got it for a wedding present), I said, "This must be how rich people live all the time". Hee!

But, I have a pretty good vacuum, so I don't want to be wasteful. Glad to know they work well. :)

13. Well I'm posting on my brand new Dell Inspiron
I just got it yesterday. My old PC stopped supporting a graphics card about a year ago and I've been putting off getting a new one all this time. I finally ordered it last week because after June 18 they won't be shipping with XP anymore. I guess this sort of counts as another pro-Mac reply. :D

Edited on Sat Jun-07-08 12:57 PM by janesez
I love XP and I thought I would miss it, but so far I'm okay with the Mac OS. I'm taking a class at the Apple store tomorrow on the OS, so hopefully I'll be totally knowledgeable after that. :)

19. I'm posting from a Macbook with a titanium case
Talk about major cool!

I'll never have anything but a Mac. I sometimes use my mom's computer, it's a PC and I end up throwing a fit. Windows is clunky and almost unusable. Macs are easy and intuitive. But the notebooks take some getting used to. The fingerpad thang mostly -although you can add a mouse.

Khash.

24. The stories are all true about "going Mac"
you never DO want to go back.

I got my first MacBook/Intel two years ago. I still have a desktop PC at home, but it never even gets booted up anymore. Outside of work (where I'm forced to use a PC) I never use anything but the Mac anymore.

Congratulations on your choice. You will NOT regret it.

26. From my Mother's Day present, a shiny new MacBook
I say congrats and you absolutely did the right thing!

I've always owned Macs (but had to use PCs at work) and now that I'm freelancing, I can say "nyeah nyeah I don't have to use your stinkin' Win-blows ANY MORE." Talk about freedom!

We sure couldn't afford to get me a new laptop, but I'm REALLY glad Mr. MG did! Not only is it all kinds of new and fast and great, it also frees me from my prison of my computer desk in the living room (where my iBoob still is, because alas, I have old versions of Quark and PhotoShop that need OS 9, which this 'puter doesn't support). Being mobile was really a plus when MG Jr. was sick all last week--I could watch movies on the bed while he slept...and while I waited for the next barfing session.
