Ouch
I was just chopping an onion ...

And you guessed......the knife slipped, and now I'm sporting a pretty deep cut on my left forefinger... x(

My poor husband had to get in the kitchen fast so he could wrap my finger in a bandaid...

It was bleeding like a son-of-a-b***h!

I'm OK now...

But it's sore!

Damn.

Just a few vibes would be nice, OK?

Thanks...

Hope it's not too much, like no need to visit the ER or get stitches, etc.

I'm chopping veggies right now to cook for the dogs, and I'm going to be thinking about this for the next hour.

Be careful!

35. Well, I was in grade 8 at the time,
and I was at school, on the way to the cafeteria. I was having a pretty good day, and kind of skipping down the stairs. I decided to jump over half of said flight of stairs, forgetting the fact that there was a low overhang, made of concrete, covering about half of it.

And to this day, I still have a dent in my skull.

38. glad you're ok!
That stuff can be dangerous! When I was a kid, my sister, my mother and I came home, where my dad and brother were supposed to be, and the there was blood all over the kitchen, and bloody knife in the sink or on the counter. Like, some serious tv or movie shit. I guess my dad had cut himself, and it hit something sort of major, and my brother had to rush him to the hospital. He was ok in the end, but had to have his arm in a cast for weeks while it heeled up! Thank god you got off with just some bandages.

Several years ago, I used a knife to bust through the seal of a bottle of coffee creamer (if I recall correctly). The knife slipped and made a cut between my thumb and my index finger.

I still see a mark at the spot of that cut.

I suspect that saying means that a cook is more likely to be sloppy with a dull knife, since you might think it would be less likely to cut you...

A little trick I picked up from a friend who's a midwife (they use it on small labial tears that don't quite merit stitches.) Works like a charm.
