Dumb computer question of the day:
This was just brought up on another thread: Newer computers do not accept floppy disks. I just got a new Dell laptop, and sure enough, there is no place for a disk. I have old stuff saved from Microsoft Word on disks. How can I save it to my new computer?

2. Do you still have the old computer?
I'd recommend a USB flash drive. They're uber cheap.

$10 with free ship and 2GB (about a trillion floppies)

3. Either purchase an external floppy drive (as was already mentioned)
or find a computer that does have a floppy and transfer the files to a recordable CD or USB memory stick.

7. You could just stick the floppy disk into the CD rom drive like my first son did.
Back when CD-ROM drives were expensive. I don't know how much data you'll recover but it'll give you something to do for an afternoon. :)

8. I have a similar question
How do I get *this* data onto *my* new computer? It does not seem to have a tape reader....
