Uhm what happened to Spring?
I think Spring has once again skipped over this area. It went from end of winter blahs to summer heat in the blink of an eye. My spinach is pissed. It's going to be in the 90's all weekend. I swear it was only a few weeks ago I wasn't sure if I could plant seeds for fear of a frost.

I'm a wilting fleur, I tell ya!

27. It's in the FORTIES here (Seattle)
and rainy. I'm on the 39th floor, and the precipitation outside my window was just starting to take the form of snowflakes (didn't quite get there though). I came to work in a sweater and coat.

That gives me the idea to hook up the sprinkler for the kids this weekend. Thanks! They will love it.

I think I have an ice-cream maker that I've used once in the past 12 years. LoL. No idea where it could be.

Just walking from the car to the grocery store. Thankfully, the walk from the car into the liquor store was much shorter. :P

39. Is there any grocery store over there with a decent deli-type thing?
I'm tired of wasting lots of money on lunches. :P I'd much rather buy a somewhat healthy grocery store sandwich than eat at the food court at the mall or the chinese buffet or fast food or any of the other options around there.

9. With that subject line, I knew it was a WNY-er before I saw the OP name!
Isn't this disgusting? WTF! Spring indeed. Temps in the 40s, 50s, and then WHAM--ickies.

I'm just glad it was cool while MG Jr. and Mr. MG were sick all this week. I think it was today's temps that got Mr. MG to go back to work today...for the air conditioning. I have a short one here who's all hot and bothered, and all we can do is lie low in the house and hope for a breeze. I wish he were feeling well enough to hit the sprinkler. :(

Stay cool up the ol' 5&20, BNL! :hi:

Little guy is better, thanks--that little visit to Strong on Monday evening really helped speed up the healing. He's not quite 100 percent, but at least he's playing now. I'm debating taking him outside, but he didn't last long out there yesterday--played with his toy lawnmower while I (finally) planted our veggies, and then suddenly, "Mama...I need to sit down for a minute." Poor booger.

On edit: stray comma

10. How is it you New Yorkers have 90-degree heat...
Edited on Fri Jun-06-08 09:39 AM by Chan790
and us Nutmeggers 50-100 miles east have 60s and rain for what seems like days?

Edit: Western NY staters...more like 200 miles. That makes sense.

look like rainforests they have so much water. I hope June is nice. I'm looking for some nice sunny days before the heatwave and humidity of July start.

23. Well, we nevah did git much of a spring heah in Maine. Jest mud season followed by
forsythia and rhododendrons that switched to leaves in a week straight.

(Seriously, though, global climate change is ruining my state. I heard that eventually all the maple trees will be up in Canada and the oceans will be so acidic that we'll lose a lot of what's left of our seafood trade.)

The winters are shorter and the springs shorter. It's like June came and a switch was turned on. At least we did get some nice spring weather here this year.
