My husband told me I can not get a box turtle.
What is the appropriate passive-aggressive response?

A. Replace all his underwear with ninja turtle boxers.

B. Appropriate a box turtle habitat, place a large rock inside, and proceed to talk to, about, and feed the rock, insisting that it is "my new box turtle".

C. Buy a box turtle and when confronted, pretend that I can't see it and don't know what he is talking about.

D. Buy a much bigger turtle and claim that I thought he would be okay with it, instead of the box turtle.

E. Hide one of the children and refuse to produce them until he buys me a box turtle.

F. Buy a box turtle, keep it outside, and claim it just "wandered into the yard."

G. Don't get a box turtle; he is right- they smell very bad.

1. Do what I do.
I just tell him that he is 'NOT THE BOSS OF ME'.

He doesn't like that, though.

3. Sometimes I pull the "I am older than you" card.
Usually I just go do whatever he told me not to, and then reason that he knew I would, anyway.

2. You need to explain to him that Cornryn is wrong, and you won't leave him for the turtle
just because gay people are getting married. He may be feeling a bit concerned.

6. Maybe that's the key.
Or I could buy one and tell him that I thought it wasn't real, but I got home and it started moving, and now I have a moral obligation to care for it.

4. At dinnertime
serve him a plate full of turtle food. When he complains, just say "Hey, someone has to eat it, guess this is all you will be getting for a while".

9. Except he would probably eat it just to spite me.
He used to eat those Pupperoni dog treats when he was younger. He claims they're not that bad.

5. I can't say too much without getting the post deleted
but it would involve a small plastic turtle head and insertion before intimacy.

10. G.
Sorry, but my nephew has a turtle, and you'd be better off putting a cat's litter box right in the middle of your living room.

15. Depends if it's a water turtle (terrapin) or a tortoise

I had both as a kid. Terrapins get STANKY!!! Land-dwelling critters are much easier to clean up after - you can just get rid of the poop instead of having to deal with nasty filters and cesspool water.

16. Oh, Christ, yes.
You've got to clean out that cage / aquarium / whatever twice or more daily, or it smells like rotten swamp.

Please trust me on this. I drove my mom over to my sister's place one day just after the kid got the turtle, and my mother actually threw up after about 15 minutes.

23. Maybe you should consult the box turtle bulletin
http://www.boxturtlebulletin.com/

Take, for example, the USA Today poll. In this, the respondant was asked to determine if the decision to marry was “strictly a private decision between the two people” or whether “the government has the right to pass laws to prohibit or allow such marriages” for a series of hypothetic couples. Respondants were asked about mixed religion and mixed race marriages along with same sex couples.

So does your husband have a religious objection to box turtles?
