It’s times like these you learn to live again
I am a one way motorway
I’m the one that drives away
Then follows you back home
I am a street light shining
I’m a wild light blinding bright
Burning off alone

It’s times like these you learn to live again
It’s times like these you give and give again
It’s times like these you learn to love again
It’s times like these time and time again

I am a new day rising
I’m a brand new sky
To hang the stars upon tonight
I am a little divided
Do I stay or run away
And leave it all behind?

It’s times like these you learn to live again
It’s times like these you give and give again
It’s times like these you learn to love again
It’s times like these time and time again

You get through however you can, I guess. It's been with the help of Foo Fighters for a month or so at Rancho Uly. :)

1. I'm not sure how I'm getting through it all
And it bears consideration that perhaps I delude myself even that I am getting through it.

I'll put a little Foo Fighters on the list, though. It certainly can't hurt. :-)

3. I'd definitely recommend it
for those of us who teach. :)

If you're a Gerry Rafferty fan, they do a pretty snifty version of "Baker Street", too...

8. Oh yeah.
I have some Foo Fighters, I just haven't played them in a while. I'm not sure why. Focused on other things, I guess.

2. Extensive therapy by music!
At times like these, the louder the better!

Foo Fighters is a nice choice! :-)

Tonight I went to a meeting of a local Democratic club. Finding people you can whine, bitch and moan with is a help, too. By the way, the club is Presidented by DU's own jobycom. A fiesty group - I like 'em! I think I'm joining! :D

6. They were telling stories about being the Texas House last night!
They were wearing socks on their hands, and using them as puppets. This symbolized that the Republicans in the Texas House are Tom DeLay's puppets. They thought they were going to get "removed", because organized protests are not allowed in the House gallery. But, they stayed because they were quiet.

The club meetings conflict with a weekly event for me, but I think I can make adjustments to my schedule.

13. Oh, they were calm last night!
You should hear them when they are fired up. There were a few good members missing, too. There are times we have fifty members all riled up and shouting. Try getting that back under control in a library. You got to see some of our highlights last night, though. Donna Beth (who knows the Bushes, the Gores, Ann Richards, and all the rest), the old curmudgeon (he uses that term as a nickname), and the judge I told you about, though she rarely shows up. Sadly.

Glad you had fun. Love to have all the DUers I can get.

14. I think you should get a bullwhip!
You'd only have to crack one of them, and the rest would get the message. Not very liberal though. You might want to wait until after the election next month.

Oh, I saw your latest e-mail. "Minor" crush? Uh huh...I'd hate to see a "major" one. You have excellent taste, though. Might as well dream big! ;-)

9. oh, that works too
:)

Let's put our heads together and start a new country up
Our father's father's father tried erased the parts he didn't like
Let's try to fill it in bank the quarry river swim
We knee skinned it you and me we knee skinned that river red

This is where we walked this is where we swam
Take a picture here take a souvenir

This land is the land of ours this river runs red over it
We knee skinned it you and me, we knee-skinned that river red
And we gathered up our friends, bank the quarry river, swim
We knee-skinned it you and me, underneath the river bed

This is where we walked, this is where we swam
Take a picture here, take a souvenir
Cuyahoga
Cuyahoga, gone

Let's put our heads together, start a new country up,
Underneath the river bed we burned the river down.
This is where they walked, swam, hunted, danced and sang,
Take a picture here, take a souvenir
Cuyahoga
Cuyahoga, gone

Rewrite the book and rule the pages, saving face, secured in faith
Bury, burn the waste behind you

This land is the land of ours, this river runs red over it
We are not your allies, we can not defend
This is where they walked, this is where they swam
Take a picture here, take a souvenir

Cuyahoga
Cuyahoga, gone
Cuyahoga
Cuyahoga, gone

12. Gonzo mentioned this one a while back
Besides, Maynard sings in my register. :D

Tool - Aenima

Some say the end is near.
Some say we'll see armageddon soon.
I certainly hope we will.
I sure could use a vacation from this

Bullshit three ring circus sideshow of
Freaks

Here in this hopeless fucking hole we call LA
The only way to fix it is to flush it all away.
Any fucking time. Any fucking day.
Learn to swim, I'll see you down in Arizona bay.

Fret for your figure and
Fret for your latte and
Fret for your hairpiece and
Fret for your lawsuit and
Fret for your prozac and
Fret for your pilot and
Fret for your contract and
Fret for your car.

It's a
Bullshit three ring circus sideshow of
Freaks

Here in this hopeless fucking hole we call LA
The only way to fix it is to flush it all away.
Any fucking time. Any fucking day.
Learn to swim, I'll see you down in Arizona bay.

Some say a comet will fall from the sky.
Followed by meteor showers and tidal waves.
Followed by faultlines that cannot sit still.
Followed by millions of dumbfounded dipshits.

Some say the end is near.
Some say we'll see armageddon soon.
I certainly hope we will cuz
I sure could use a vacation from this

Silly shit, stupid shit...

One great big festering neon distraction,
I've a suggestion to keep you all occupied.

Learn to swim.

Mom's gonna fix it all soon.
Mom's comin' round to put it back the way it ought to be.

Learn to swim.

Fuck L Ron Hubbard and
Fuck all his clones.
Fuck all those gun-toting
Hip gangster wannabes.

Learn to swim.

Fuck retro anything.
Fuck your tattoos.
Fuck all you junkies and
Fuck your short memory.

Learn to swim.

Fuck smiley glad-hands
With hidden agendas.
Fuck these dysfunctional,
Insecure actresses.

Learn to swim.

Cuz I'm praying for rain
And I'm praying for tidal waves
I wanna see the ground give way.
I wanna watch it all go down.
Mom please flush it all away.
I wanna watch it go right in and down.
I wanna watch it go right in.
Watch you flush it all away.

Time to bring it down again.
Don't just call me pessimist.
Try and read between the lines.

I can't imagine why you wouldn't
Welcome any change, my friend.

I wanna see it all come down.
suck it down.
flush it down.
