I went, I waited, and unfortunately was unable to enter
the Obama rally.

I did have one hell of a good time in line though. I saw a bunch of people I knew, met some new people, and generally had a good time.

but was unable to get inside... :(

2. bummer!!
Way too many people there. I remember when I went to his rallies and there were people inside and outside the halls, but that was only a couple of hundred people at community buildings. I volunteered for him, I am old and disabled, so I was always given a seat down front. Ah those were the days. Oh, did I mention that was 2004, Southern Illinois, and small town America. ;)

St. Paul was a total clusterfuck. You couldn't drive through downtown at all and there were all these helicopters flying around and a brazillion people wandering through the streets everywhere, so rather than walking downtown from Cathedral Hill as we'd planned, we stayed in, had plenty of wine and beer to drink and some brats to eat, and watched the thing on TV. Heard there were more than 15,000 people listening to the speech outside in addition to the 18,000 or so inside. I would have had to go to the bathroom at least a dozen times if I'd gotten in, so I guess it's just as well. It would have been fun, though, to have been with the crowd.

5. yeah but I feel as if I was where I was supposed to be
The line was fun, the people were great, and I am glad I went even if it was to stand in line.

6. Ocelot, you missed your chance to meet my wonderful, beautiful, and awesome
Fiancee tonight...

Her and I enjoyed standing in line together tonight, which worked out well, she got to meet some of my friends I have not seen in a while.
