Just listening to Ghost Town by The Specials
Most astonishing UK #1 ever. I'm still amazed they could get it to the top for four weeks. That restores my faith in humanity.

3. The first time I ever heard that...
...was when it was played on "60 Minutes" as part of a piece on "Loony Left" London Councils gaining conrol of local government.

I remember 60 Minutes had to run the video clip with subtitles, because they decided the brogue was too heavy to understand aurally.

5. Wasn't that three of the guys from the Specials in Fun Boy Three?
That's Terry Hall and Lyvnal Golding in the picture, can't remember the name of the other guy.

10. Yes, and "The Colourfield".
One-hit wonder band: "I Can't Get Enough of You Baby", kind of a Yardbirds eets the Doors proto-psychedelic pop number.

6. Ya want some Bananarama with that?
Those guys appeared in Bananarama's videos, and I always figured that they were the musicians, writers, and producers behind Bananarama.

Yes, it's true. Like the 70's staples of flipped and feathered hair and flared jeans, indeed too it was only a matter of time before the military draft made a comeback.
Bill H.R. 163 was introduced in the House of Representatives on Feb. 3rd by Rep. Charles Rangel (D-NY) to reinstate the military draft. The Universal National Service Act of 2003, as it is being called will be a mandatory draft of all eligible and non-exempt citizens (including women) between the ages of 18-26 for two year service in either active military or reserve duty. The official justification reads as "..To provide for the common defense by requiring that all young persons in the United States, including women, perform a period of military service or a period of civilian service in furtherance of the national defense and homeland security, and for other purposes."
The United States Government is clawing at children of Vietnam parents, as if they didn't learn their lesson in the last go around. The Bush Administration has gotten itself into a sticky situation with "The War on Terror" and this maybe a prolong of their bunk ideology. This bill is currently in sub-committee, but I urge all U.S. Citizens of voting age to contact there Representatives and tell them not to vote on this bill when it inevitably comes up for a vote in the House, or pack your bags for Canada.

To read this bill go to:

Clinton spoke at a Joe Walsh concert/fundraiser for him in Ohio in 1996. He said "Rocky Mountain Way" was his favorite rocking tune from that era.

8. Don't underestimate the politics of "Fun Boy Three"
The Lunatics Have Taken Over The Asylum

I see a clinic full of cynics
who want to twist the peoples' wrist
they're watching every move we make
we're all included on the list

the lunatics have taken over the asylum
the lunatics have taken over the asylum

"Go nuclear" the cowboy told us
and who am I to disagree
'cos when the madman flips the switch
the nuclear will go for me

the lunatics have taken over the asylum
the lunatics have taken over the asylum

I've seen the faces of starvation
but I just can not see the points
'cos there's so much food here today
that no one wants to take away

the lunatics have taken over the asylum
the lunatics have taken over the asylum

the lunatics have taken over the asylum - take away my right to choose
the lunatics have taken over the asylum - take away my point of view
the lunatics have taken over the asylum
the lunatics have taken over the asylum - take away my dignity, take these things away from me
the lunatics have taken over the asylum
the lunatics have taken over the asylum - take away my family, take awaythe right to speak
the lunatics have taken over the asylum take away my point of view, takeaway my right to choose

20. Do you like FunBoy 3?
I've been listening to alot of old records since I got my turntable fixed, and FunBoy3 is one of my new oldie hits.. When is there going to be a '80's altternative station for those of us who hated the shit they played on the radio during the '80s? Jaysus, we had to search high and loww (with NO computers) to find our music if we lived in a Ghost Town.... that song was so apropriate,
