Favorite Northern Exposure Character

The thread about the first season of Northern Exposure coming soon to DVD got me to thinking about my old favorite show.

So who was your favorite...

So many great relatively minor characters

Marilyn Whirlwind
Hayden Keyes...

2. Marilyn, Ed, and Adam

are my faves. Marilyn got the best of whathisname every day.

5. I personally thought Marilyn was beautiful.

Maybe it was the attitude. Quiet self-assurance. Totally un-flappable. The smile was cute too.

But - I hadda vote for Shelly

I 'm a sucker for the seemingly "innocent" type

and such a sweet smile !

9. Sho got that right...

Think of the NE women. All were strong. Maggie, Shelly, Marilyn, Ruth Ann, Barbara Semanski (sp?) even neurotic Eve could hold her own against Adam...

but they were all great and distinctive characters...

I was always surprised nobody tried to replicate Chris in the morning as an FM format....play eclectic music and instead of aimless chatter have the DJs read great quotations and bits of poetry and the like...

11. Yeah, Dave was cool

but I never warmed up to Eugene... Dave was so unceremoniously replaced! I guess I kinda resented Eugene for being the replacement.

because he was SUPPOSED to appeal to me. The literary bad boy who is also into Iggy Pop. Pandering character.
