Poll question: Best Active Jam Band
Who is the best ACTIVE Jam Band today? (I am purposely limiting this to active bands, so as to not have a complete runaway for the Grateful Dead.)

2. There are only 10 slots...
Are Little Feat even active now? I haven't seen them on tour in a few years. I did see them once with the Allmans. Great show.

4. If "Jam band" means bands who jam....
You haven't included any from the class that blows all others away, Jazz Fusion. A combination of Jazz and rock that really cranks! All members of these bands are at the tip top of their games.

I will use Derek Sherinians Planet X as and Example. Derek on Keyboards ripping improvised solo's over to Tony Macalpine on guitar... These guys really rock!

Or how about Steve Smiths Vital Information. A cooking jazz/rock band with Steve Smith, the worlds best all around drummer for several years as rated by readers of Modern drummer magazine, with Frank Gambale on Guitar, Baron Brown on bass... These guys are among the best in the world...

Check these two bands out. If you like ripping virtuosity, your gonna be hooked....

Ron

7. Phish, by far folks.
They are the most innovative of the current jam bands. The others aren't breaking too much new ground,
