8. At least you have some fair warning

Many the night I spent in the dorm, hoping and praying that nobody would set off the fire alarm. I think the one semester I lived in KU's dorms we had 6 false alarms - all usually in the middle of the night. There's nothing worse than waking up to a horrible sounding fire alarm.

I think it was because we had so many false alarms causing evacuation that everybody knew how to get out.

11. My freshman year roommate and I used to turn off the lights, tv...

and other appliances and stay in the room with the shades down. (The only time we agreed on ANYTHING all year ....was that after the 4th fire alarm pulled by a frat-type returning from a kegger in a week, leaving the warmth of the dorm to wait outside was just not happening.) I don't miss dorm life one bit.
