We got adopted tonight by a beautiful Long haired cat
about 8 am it showed up in our garage...we petted it, fed it and let it out. It came back not once but 4 times. We now have it in the house. It is in desperate need of a bath and a comb out. It is also very hungry

from what I can tell, it looks like a rag doll

I took some pictures and when hubby gets them on the drive, I will post.

It has been declawed so we were worried that it was someone elses and kept trying to get it to go home, but it keeps coming back.

SPOOKY our psycho cat is not too thrilled, but they have not attacked each other, they just growl at each other

Will they get along eventually?

2. If it looks like a hungry ragdoll, sounds like someone may have abandoned it.
A LOT of people losing their homes or apts so it seems to becoming more prevalent. Sad.

Could take it to the vet to see if it has a chip. Sounds like it could use some loving. Not safe out on the street, defenseless without claws. Good luck! Can't wait to see the pics.

3. Good Chance they will
get along. There almost always is growling at first and maybe hissing but they get over it after a few weeks. We have ten cats and there is only one that seems to have problems with most of the others and it usually just involves some chasing and the occasional slap fight, nothing too rough.

All cats seem to have their cranky moments. The last bunch of cats we added were males which we hadn't had before and they seem to like to cause trouble. Even after being fixed.

On the right is Pie who is kind of Rag Dollish and seems to make the other cats crazy. On the right is Kerry who has the most problems with new cats and starts hissing at everything including us when a new cat arrives and yet she and Pie are like Daughter and Mom.

5. Cats have short memories. Spooky may forget that he ever ruled the roost
in a few days. But since it is declawed I would gather this cat has a home. Make sure it has ready access to the outside so it can find its way home.

6. yes, they will eventually get along.
Or there will just be a polite detente. Very rarely is there prolonged hostility - esp. if you continue to let Spooky know s/he is still very loved, and if you can, try to feed Spooky first. Then there should be no problems. We have 7 cats - moved here with all but 2 and have added 5, and it really only took about 1-2 weeks for the hissy fits to stop. Now they're all buddies.

Thank you for taking her in - poor baby, hungry and no claws.
