I love carnival rides. Anything that spins me in circles while spinning me in even bigger circles while flipping me upside down ROCKS.

I was too small for the safety restraints and rattled around the whole time.

7. Rocko Planes

A very cool ride that I don't see around much anymore. You could actually "drive" them.

8. I Rode One Of Those One Time... But Didn't Realize I Could Control It...

and the previous rider had left the wheel in the "spin hard left" setting. I started crying and the ride operator stopped the ride early to show me what to do and how to work the ride. Then he started it up again and gave us a full ride.

10. Tilt-a-whirl with a Girl

All us Jr. High guys caught on quick. Well, the Scrambler too actually.

But I have to confess I found love on the Bumper Cars. Or something.

My not-yet-then husband and I were both part of a larger group of friends but had never paired off as a couple. Then a bunch of us went on the bumper cars at Coney Island, and he and I spent the whole ride smashing into each other while ignoring everybody else.

I don't know if it was previously unrecognized sexual attraction, or just a shared taste for xtreme bumper car-ness, but that was one of the first things that set us to thinking we might have a potential relationship.
