Not necessarily in this board, just in general.

Maybe they disagreed with you.

Maybe they torn your argument to shreds.

But you went ahead and trolled them into a heated argument. Maybe even resorted to personal attacks and calling a person out. And then then when they finally said something you didn't like, you hit the alert button, even though you KNEW they didn't break any rules, you just vainly hope that a busy mod will misinterpret the post and delete it.

Ever do that?

If you did, then you, sir or madam, are an utter asshole.

And I mean that personally.

1. Gah!
No. I think I may have hit alert once or twice, usually when it's an obvious freeper disruptor.

2. So, how many alerts do you think Dr. Weird is going to get on this one?
If I didn't know how busy the mods are, I would have done it, just as a joke.

4. No, but I'm a lot less tolerant since I had 3 of my posts deleted
and lost the appeals. I used to alert only if it personally offended MY sensibilities. Since I lost at least 2 of my appeals for technicalities that were NOT spelled out in the rules, I just alert any post that's a technical violation.

5. I use it sparingly
But if I suspect a freeper, I hunt down their posting history (to confirm or exonerate) and if it's looking pretty obvious I alert.

6. Nope, never have.

I try not to use the alert function at all, but will admit that I've been compelled to use it a couple of times. But not because I simply didn't like a person!
