It's fast! I once took it on the way to have an ingrown toenail removed. My mom said it was the happiest thirty minutes I ever had. And that's sad. :P

Why does the RNC embrace Ann Coulter, when she is an obvious nutcase, and an embarrasment to America.

10. Bertha
Ask your doctor about Lexapro. Taking care of my Mom who had a stroke for four years and my son who was diagnosed with cancer took it's toll on me. Panic attacks, depression, blah, blah. I asked for Xanax but, my dr. prescribed Lexapro. This stuff is great! I sleep like a teen-ager, no more panic or anxiety attacks. My memory is back - well sort of ;) No side affects whatsover.

They should put this stuff in the water.

15. tried it, max . . .
it didn't work for shit. I take Zoloft, and Xanax prn. Zoloft isn't doing too great lately, either -- hence the 3 Xanax!

I took Effexor for a while, and it was fantastic -- 'til I had a heart attack because of the blood pressure spike. :(

Your son - jesus. I'm sorry.

But I'm way glad the Lexapro works for you!

Hell, I'd be popping anxiolytics like candy if I were married to the shrub, myself.

By the way Bertha-whose-name-is-not-Heidi (see, I can read!), ask your doc about Klonopin. It's a bit more hefty than Xanax, for those of us that have nuclear-class panic attacks.

36. Xanax! My drug of choice...
if I were to actually do drugs. :)

I am terrified of flying, so I hit the ol' Xanax when it's time to take to the skies. I have it down to a science - .75 an hour and half before flight time, another .75 40 minutes before take-off. That way I am nice and relaxed the entire time I'm waiting at the airport. Any drug that makes me care less if I go down in a fiery ball is okay by me!

What's really funny is when I have dreams where I am getting on a plane to travel, I always remember to take my Xanax -- IN MY DREAM. That's how scared I am of flying!

38. Xanax plus Lexapro equals...
...A world I can almost tolerate. I too need Xanax before flying. No other way I'm getting on the plane. Those fuckers are death traps. At least with Xanax, I've stopped examining the rivets on the plane door before I get in (which always caused problems for the people behind me in line). If there's a connecting flight, well, honey, that's another Xanax down the hatch. Lexapro, which I ingest daily, is the first SSRI I can handle, but I need MORE when I fly. And I ain't found a doctor yet who'll supply me with morphine...

42. Wow, that's a lot
I have panic attacks occaisionally. One usually brings me down pretty quickly. When I had a really bad one and made the neighbor take me to the hospital, they gave me two after one didn't get me down. Then I felt megstoned and barely remmeber anything else the entire evening.
Do you take beta blockers? They can help both with the cardiac issues and anxiety. Learning to breathe helps too.

44. Yeah, I take a beta blocker.
Was taking it when I had the heart attack. The Effexor was just too much. But damn, it worked better than anything I've ever taken. Figures.

I didn't know the BB helped w/ anxiety -- wouldn't know it to look at me, lately. :) Thanks, Nikia.

46. Have You Tried Any Alternatives?
Moderate excersize is great for giving the stress that's causing the attacks an outlet to channel itself through. Yoga was the best I found.

I once had a "Xanax Winter" and it got to the point where I'd rather head outdoors for a *very* brisk walk at the outset of an attack than have to spend whole days where everything was just .. okay.
