How much are you paying for cable, phone and internet?
I have all three with Time Warner and my bill is $150 per month. They tell me it would cost more if I dropped the digital. WTF?

1. No cable.
But phone, DSL internet, and cell phone are costing me $120 a month. It would be WAY cheaper if I dropped the cell phone, but that's not going to happen. :D

33. fine!
We have a medium package that doesn't include HBO or Starz or those platinum movie channels, but it does have BBCA, LINK and Al Gore's Current and plenty of all the other stuff. RFD cracked me up when I first saw it. Cattle auctions! Polka parties! Of course, more movie channels are available for more moolah.

9. $110
$40 each for cable tv & cable internet and around $30 for basic land line phone. Plus I pay yearly rent (property taxes) on a home I've "owned" for almost 20 years.

When you add everything up it's pretty damn expensive just to sit and exist on this goddamn planet. x( All the little babies don't know it yet, but they better get themselves prepared to fuckin' produce!

The only option for me for broadband Internet is "Wild blue" satellite service at 80 dollars a month. My dial up was running at 21kbps so I have no other choice. Direct TV with HD dvr at 75 bucks a month, land line & cell phone eat up the rest.

They want to strip away benefits. Fine.

But that fun economy where we spend like crazy. Going, going, gone. Can't buy all the cheap goods on good intentions and people are out of credit. So, corporations are buying their own grave globally.

And you know....I'm not going to miss it. And we're not even the really big spenders.

Edited on Mon May-19-08 07:55 PM by GOPisEvil
The cable companies are offering big package deals nowadays. Of course I have a contract now, but it's $150 to terminate that prorates, so it's not that big of a deal. When this contract expires, I'll get a similar deal from another company. I'm treating these services like cell phone service.

Edited to say that I pay $99 + taxes and fees. Or about $115 total.

I figure Time Warner gave me the deal because U-verse is about to roll out in my area. In two years, I'll see if U-verse is cheaper and/or better and switch. Or, cut myself a good deal to stay with Time Warner.

27. $20/month
Not counting cell or VOIP. To be fair, if/when I turn my landline back on I'll be paying more like $30/month.

$10/month = landline with ALL features (3-way, call waiting, call-id, voicemail, ect, etc)

$0/month - 8Mb/1.5Mb DSL

$20/month - digital cable with ALL movie channels and two set top boxes.

About $20ish for a basic landline, around $77 for digital cable with all movie channels and an extra set-top box, and they can't HAVE my internet speeds, but DSL is (at the moment, going to be price restructuring very soon and rates are going to go down by around $10) $44.95.

but I must add, before I paid $58.00 for cable via dish network, local phone $60-$70, and internet over the land line at $14.00 but I only got 28,000 (tops) on dial-up and a rural phone that worked 50% of the time. The only thing on this I wouldn't give up is the internet service and it is $44.00, but only if I have all three. All in all, I'm happy with the package.

Approximately $75 for AT&T cell phone service...it's the $45 plan, but once you tack on all the fucking fees, it's more like $75.

About $200 for internet and cable. However, that includes digital cable (about 300 channels), HBO, Showtime, 2 DVR boxes and 2 modems.

On edit: I don't have a land line phone.

55. Ummmm
Cable & internet about $135
Cell phone about $35
Land line about $45

Total about $215

I could ditch the landline and up the cell minutes but that would only save me about $10 per month - which I would have to apply to an additional cell for the monitored alarm. Not sure I would save any money and definitely not worth the hassle right now.

Hope to move in the next year or two. Landline is history then. As is the monitored alarm. And HBO.
